Residential New Build | Hertfordshire Countryside

An unloved and overlooked backland plot in the Hertfordshire countryside has become the setting for one of our latest residential new build projects.

DPE Architecture was commissioned by the client to design a small, detached two-bedroom home on this challenging rural site. The proposed design makes use of natural and sustainable materials that blend seamlessly with the surrounding landscape — including charred timber cladding and a sedum green roof.

Our aim was to create a scheme that respects the rural character of the area while preserving key countryside views and enhancing the natural setting.

DPE Architecture was appointed to deliver full architectural design services, and the project is currently at the planning stage.
