New Build Contemporary House

An unloved and ignored back land plot in the Hertfordshire countryside is the site of our residential new build project. DPE architecture were approached by the client to design a small, new build, detached, 2-bedroom house on a challenging site. The house is designed to utilize natural materials that settle into their countryside setting such as the charred timber that clads the building’s exterior and the sedum roof. DPE Architecture were asked to devise a scheme that respected the local countryside surroundings and preserved existing views. We were appointed to provide full design services; the project is currently in planning stage.

Situated in the Buckinghamshire countryside, this small family terraced house is in a fantastic location overlooking trees and fields. DPE Architecture were approached to breathe some life into what had become an awkward and cramped home for an expanding family. The clients had a desire to maximize space and incorporate interesting architectural interventions wherever possible. 
We designed a side extension and loft extension incorporating a large L-shaped dormer to provide a new master suite and bathroom. The layout of the house was also completely re-imagined with the existing constraints removed to create an open plan. DPE architecture was appointed to provide full design services. The clients were particularly interested in a contemporary feel with a nod towards an industrial aesthetic and an honest use of materials. The project is in the early design stages.


New Road

Burton Garth

A small thatched cottage in the countryside in need of some additional space and increased connection to the outside terrace and garden. After a lengthy planning battle we eventually came out the other side with an addition that has provided the clients with exactly what they were looking for.

Barnmead Road

A period Victorian house full of character and situated in a beautiful South London street but lacking in natural light and with a complicated and non functioning ground floor layout. DPE Architecture were appointed to make sense of the awkward layout and we designed a small side and rear extension whilst opening up the layout to provide a largely open plan space to be enjoyed by the clients and their dogs.

Briscoe Road

Zealand Road

A late Victorian terraced house situated just off the Roman Road near East London’s Victoria Park. The house, located in a conservation area demanded a respectful approach to its renovation. DPE Architecture were approached by the clients who were looking to get the most out of the house and adapt it to fit in 
with the needs of their ever-growing family. We remodeled the house, adding a side extension and mansard roof extension. This included designed a contemporary new stair extending up through the house, fitted joinery, glass roof, reclaimed flooring and much more. DPE Architecture completed full design services including contract administration and overseeing construction. The 
project was a huge success with the clients very happy with their new family home.
